Zipper Pins and Machine Embroidery

  

My latest craze is making pins out of zipper teeth, watercolor paper and machine embroidery thread. I love experimenting with different colors combinations and textures that are created with the thread. I've been using watercolor paint, alcohol markers and water based brush markers on the paper. I can't say I've found a favorite because they are all so interesting in their own ways. I also have a huge collection of embroidery thread because my last craze was machine embroidery. I use variegated thread and solid colored thread in different textures and weights.  I discovered zipper teeth for jewelry several years ago and they are amazing. I'm using brass teeth and brass treated to look like nickle in my pins.
